The SCSH website is designed for self-administration of the SCSH rating system. However, services are available for those who would like an independent project evaluation and recommendations for improving construction worker safety and health on projects.
Benefits of an Audit
An independent project evaluation ensures that the rating system is implemented correctly, helps eliminate potential bias in evaluating project performance, provides a third-party assessment for rating validation, and enables confidentiality amongst project team members. The audit concludes with a written report that presents summary and detailed descriptions of the evaluation along with recommendations for improving construction worker safety and health on the project.
The audits are conducted at the project and/or office site by a qualified safety and health professional. The auditors collect project data and interview project team members to gather information necessary to apply the SCSH rating system. Following the on-site visit(s), the auditors write a report for the project team that presents their findings, gives the rating system results, and provides recommendations for improving construction worker safety and health on the project.
There is a fee charged for conducting the audit. The fee covers the auditor’s time to collect project data, interview project team members, assess the project using the SCSH rating system, and prepare and submit the audit report. In addition, travel expenses are charged to cover the costs of travel to/from the project and/or office sites.
